You mean well, but it just seems like a good idea to have them do several at a time. Little brains can only take so much. Keep learning fun by sprinkling worksheets into their curriculum as a fun break from their usual textbook. Tip #4 – Keep it Fun. If you happen to have a competitive child, chances are he will love worksheets always trying to beat his last time. This is great and if this is the case, let him work all of the worksheets he wants. Just be sure that it is ”child-driven” not ”parent-driven” meaning – let it be his idea. As long as he is having fun and asking for more, let him have all he wants.

Multiplication worksheets are easy to find on the internet but before you start printing everything you find, you need to consult your child’s grade level math book or purchase a good scope and sequence book. A scope and sequence book will tell you what your child should be doing in math according to age and grade level. This book is a handy reference to always have on hand so you can be sure your child is staying on track. A good scope and sequence book will break down math into each area and you’ll know what your child needs to accomplish for that school year. Use this book as a guide as to which multiplication worksheets you should print off. If your child is just beginning to multiply multi-digit problems without carrying, don’t make the mistake of giving her worksheets that have carrying. It will most likely throw your child for a loop and she will become upset.

Another one of the many ways that you can go about saving money with preschool worksheets is by using photo protectors. These are pages that you can slip photographs into to protect them. It is possible to find photo protectors that are designed for full pages, like preschool worksheets. You can simply slip each preschool worksheet into a page protector and give your child a dry erase marker. Each time that they are finished, you can wipe off the marker and the worksheet is good to go, again and again! The above mentioned methods are just a few of the many ways that you can go about saving money with preschool worksheets for your child. Of course, these steps are optional, but they can help you save money, as well as prolong the life of your child’s preschool worksheets.

If you have read my article ”Helping Your Child With Basic Arithmetic? Stay Away From Worksheets” then you know that I am not a fan of traditional worksheets. After writing that article, I found another credible teacher who has written many ezine articles expounding on the benefits of worksheets. I decided some clarification of position is in order. The primary problem with most math worksheets is that the problems are already written out and the child need only write the answers. For learning and practicing the basic skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, it is much more beneficial for the child to write out the entire fact and say the entire fact out loud. A child will learn a multiplication fact much faster if they are writing out 6 x 8 = 48 at the same time they are saying ”six times eight is forty-eight” than if they just see 6 x 8 = ___ and only have to supply the 48.

Kindergarten ABC worksheets should have different activities to help children identify the various letters of the alphabet. The activities may involve very simple things like colouring, ticking, drawing a line to match items etc. Using attractive illustrations and cartoon characters would make it more fun for children. The activities should be graded, i.e initial activities should be very simple and easy (but should be fun with good pictures etc, so as to interest the child); later worksheets may involve a little bit more work. Care should be taken to give children worksheets that they are capable of doing. This involves understanding and monitoring the child continually, since the level of attainment of different children would often be quite different. The worksheet should challenge the child but not overwhelm her. If the worksheet is too easy or too repetitive, it may bore the child and she would not be happy. If the activity is too difficult it would frustrate her and she would not like to take up more sheets.
